WHERE IS MONTENEGRO?

Montenegro is located in southeastern Europe, specifically within the Balkan region, bordering the Adriatic Sea from Italy. Neighbors include Croatia to the west, Bosnia and Herzegovina to the northwest, Serbia to the northeast, Kosovo to the east, and Albania to the southeast. FACTS ABOUT MONTENEGRO

Montenegro was featured in the James Bond film "Casino Royale" from 2006. One of the iconic scenes in the movie takes place aboard the Casino Royale train, where James Bond, played by Daniel Craig, engages in a high-stakes poker game with his adversary Le Chiffre. This scene was filmed on the historic Belgrade–Bar (town in Montenegro) railway line in Montenegro.

HIKE TO MAUSOLEUM IN LOVCEN NATIONAL PARK

Visit Lovcen National Park, located in the rocky Dinara Alps, on the second highest peak 1,675m above sea level. The park is home to the mausoleum of former Montenegrin ruler Petar II Petrović- Njegoš. Climb up 460 stairs and you’ll find a marble chapel, with a winged granite eagle bearing his remains. Above it, 200,000 gilded tiles create a dazzling gold ceiling. Inside the mausoleum, under a golden mosaic, there’s a grandiose sculpture of Njegos, created by famous sculptor Ivan Mestrovic. The viewpoint has a spectacular sight of the mountains and national parks of Montenegro, and Cetinje – the old Capital of Montenegro with King Nikola’s Castle, which is now turned into a museum.

LOVCEN ADVENTURE PARK (OPTIONAL)

The Adventure Park has a series of ropes trails for you to navigate, all varying in difficulty. Each trail has 15 obstacles within in for you to complete with your group. There are trained instructors on site who’ll show you how to play the obstacles and complete the courses.

HIKING THE LADDER OF SAN GIOVANNI FORTRESS - SMUGGLER’S ROUTE

During the visit to Kotor you should by all means visit the fortress St. Giovanni. It is situated above the city walls of the Kotor’s Old town. Climbing up to the fortress starts with the serpentines from the east part of the Kotor old Town, which go to the very top of the fortress on 280m above sea level from where yuo get the entire view of Kotor and UNESCO protected Boka Bay.

SECRETS OF MYSTERIOUS SUBMARINE IN TIVAT

One of the most interesting experiences you can have in Tivat is sightseeing the submarine “Hero”. It used to be a carefully kept secret of Yugoslav Navy, but today it belongs to a museum of “Naval Heritage Collection” in Porto Montenegro. It is not to wonder why people from all over the world come to Tivat to see the submarine. Worldwide, there are only three submarines that can be visited. Its length is impressive 50 meters, while its interior represents the top of industrial and military power of ex Yu.
It served its country almost 23 years. Once you enter into the submarine, you will n.o. tice a tight interior, full of equipment and different devices. The life of 28 submariners was everything but easy and comfortable.In 1991 it was drawn out of the sea and placed on the shore forever, and that actually happened in Tivat. It had a total of 726 sailing days, 910 dives, with the total of 46 659 nautical miles, which equals twice the journey around the Earth.

Set in a beautiful location, the tunnel is not only a fascinating piece of military heritage, but also a great place for swimming, snorkeling, or just wandering around. The tunnel itself is 100 meters long. It is possible to swim the whole length of the tunnel.
